Haven in Romania was founded in 1991 by Dennis and Sylvia Brown from Frinton on Sea, England. It is a registered Christian charity that works in and around the Piatra Neamt area, Northen Romania, and in partnership with the Christian Baptist Church of Piatra Neamt. As a charity, no charges are made to the elderly, or to the families of the children helped by Haven in Romania, and all wages and resources are paid for by donations and fundraising.
Romania is situated in Southeastern Europe, with one stretch of coast along the Black Sea, and the Carpathian mountains through its centre.
The Day Centre for children with special needs was started two years ago. Doina Tifrea, the wife of a Baptist Pastor, had before then been running the support group for special needs children and their parents without any permanent residence, which was severely hampering her efforts as she was being constantly moved from place to place.

Tuesday, March 13, 2018. We ate lunch with Jovie in her classroom the day before her birthday. We also registered Jensen for Kindergarten that day!
