As every good gardener knows, weeds are inevitable. Try as you might to suppress them, they creep up around each precious plant and threaten to choke out its beauty. Visitors to a poorly tended garden rarely appreciate the successful blooms instead, straggly weeds distract their focus. During previous jobs at book publishing houses, I unfortunately had to reject hundreds of manuscripts with wonderful ideas because the submissions were rife with basic mistakes.
