I figured this would be the case since it has been a longer time period since my last observation. The first new organism I noticed was the Copepod. I also observed Rotifers and a few Gastroticha in the aquarium. These three were identified with the aid of Guide to Microlife. Thursday, November 20, 2008. Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Sunday, November 2, 2008. I noticed that the number and variety of organisms has significantly increased. With the help of the professor we identified a couple of different types that were common. Caenomorpha which look like spinning tops or toadstools, and Notommatoid Rotifers. The rotifers were very interesting they were observed eating while stationary, using their flagella to create water current into their mouths bringing food in with it. Monday, October 27, 2008.

Monday, November 17, 2008. In the top waters, i found much more diatoms than before, mainly the accordian shaped ones. I also saw about four epistylis and three rotifers, also a bit more than last week. The abundance of blue green algae was overwhelming. My little organisms are finding it difficult to find much space to swim around. I only saw one of these. Wednesday, November 5, 2008.
