Mount Parke

Thursday, July 20, 2006. Commemorating the families who had settled and worked the island from 1900 to 1942, I thought this would be an interesting extra.

Soames Hill

Friday, August 04, 2006. We enjoyed the view, with Keats Island directly ahead, Plumper Cove Marine Park and the Shelter Islets in front and islands of the Pasley Group behind. After we had eaten, a party of four people from Kamloops arrived; we chatted and took their photos on their camera for them. They offered to do the same for us and we accepted.

Baden Powell Connector

Tuesday, November 14, 2006. We decided to recon a trail that I had seen one day when. Coming down Nelson Canyon on the Trans Canada trail. On this holiday Monday the forecast was for a dry couple of hours in the morning with rain starting later on. So we set off for the parking lot off Westport Road at the Upper Levels, skipping our usual coffee at the start.

Skytrain to Fraser Foreshore and Back

Skytrain to Fraser Foreshore and Back. Tuesday, January 16, 2007. With the snow lying deep in many of the outlying areas, we decided to do an urban walk from Metrotown down to Fraser Foreshore Park and back up to Edmonds Station.

Fulford Walk

Saturday, March 29, 2008. The trail led steeply up before coming out to a short loop trail, where we branched right to reach the summit, returning later by the other half of the loop. The summit offered beautiful views over Fulford Harbour and across the isthmus to Burgoyne Bay on the western side. This was a good spot to take a long lunch and enjoy just being there. You need an early start to make it to Fulford Harb.

Matsqui Trail

Tuesday, June 3, 2008. Tbut had no idea that it referred to what we would meet some two kilometres further on. The left hand route at the fork followed Trans Canada Trail west to Mount Lehman. The right hand one was Matsqui Trail that would lead us east to Old Matsqui and the Abbotsford-Mission. Not much later,we met the first sign of flood trouble. Danger - Do Not Enter. We walked on the dry dike for a while, opting to stay with it and pass by a sewage treatment plant. Danger - Do Not Enter.

Untouched Great Wall Hike

Personalised, informative, comfortable. Joe and the driver picked me up at the hotel and we drove to the great wall. This part of the wall was non-touristic and we hiked on the non-restored wall till we met the famous restored part of the great wall. All the way Joe explained very much and also answered questions. Joe was very nice and helpful and he speaks good English. Great experience! Get Replies with 24 hours, usually quicker.
