Plenty of genres exposed themselves to the harsh judgments of critics and the no as harsh ears of mass market radio listeners. The music world was in search of a new genre that would rise from the ether and capture the hearts and minds of sock hopping kids and discotheque-ing adults alike.

A lot of folk-pop gets shoveled down our throats, and the majority of it is very hard to define where the folk part of it is located. These guys are doing it right, and if the radios get hold of them they will be getting pretty big pretty quick in my opinion. Old bear mountain are very much a folk string-band playing traditional style music, but man can they write a catchy song.
