Black Hole Marsh gets exciting! Wednesday saw a great increase in numbers of waders on the reserve. Afternoon Ringed Plover number was 4, but there were at least 21 there by Sunset. Dawlish Warren Latest Sightings

Rare Birds Day by Day. Sunday, 16 August 2015. Wader numbers had dropped overnight but new arrivals in the estuary included a juvenile Little Gull. As well as the first Wigeon. Also in the estuary 40 Sandwich. Elsewhere passerine migrants had also departed overnight with just two Willow Warbler. On site, single Yellow.

Teign Birds

A stunning adult Spotted Sandpiper. Other counts from a belated WeBS included 283 Oystercatchers. While attempting to relocate the Spot Sand at Passage House this evening Kev and Laurie had a flyover Green Sandpiper. Laurie also saw a Whinchat. Saturday, 15 August 2015. A long overdue patch tick for me. Also present between here and The Ness were 14 Blackcaps.

Not Quite Scilly

The story begins with a green parrot in the tree outside my window in early May. I could identify many birds, but had no idea what this was. Surely an aviary escape? As well as what else I could expect to see in and around the grounds of our hall of residence.
