Friday, November 26, 2010. Today is known as Black Friday what it should be known as is the Debt Black Hole Friday. It is the day when normally sane people go crazy. I mean what do you call people who line up days in advance just so they can buy the latest gadget. When did Christmas become fighting to get something that will be forgotten soon after the package is opened? Gratitude is no longer a part of the holiday. Do you remember the gifts or the people you celebrated them with? .

I write about this, that, and the other thing. Friday, July 25, 2014. Living in Chicago at Mid-Century. I was born in 1940 and raised in Berwyn, Illinois, a Chicago suburb about 10 miles southwest of the Chicago Loop. Berwyn is a nice community of modest homes. When I was growing up, most residents were of Eastern European backgrounds, with a high concentration of Czechs, and Poles, as well as a sizable number of Italians and Sicilians.
