The work of Eco Club at Bushloe High School. Since our last post the plants in the grounds have been growing and growing, here are some quick update photos of how things are looking. This Monday the Eco Schools assessor is due to call to look at the work we have done over the last two years.

New bird ready for releasing into the wild. Here is a new bird cut out. A new use for old maps. Mistle thrush cut from Scotish Geology Map. Thrush cut from vintage Bartholamew Map. Green Woodpecker cut from Cwmbran Land Use Map 1976. Each bird is mounted on pins and put into a box file.
Interactive Worlds has been created to provide the opportunity for young people at BSB to interact with Geography and to come to further understand their world. I hope that in time it becomes a communicative space which students can use to share their learning and experience of their own geography. Wednesday, January 16, 2008. No soil, volcanoes or field trips to Wales, guaranteed. Time for some inter-stellar Geography for those of you who thought Geographers only had our heads stuck in Earthly rocks and soil. For those of us in Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield that missed out on the Northern Lights last month due to street lights and office blocks here they are over Derwent Water in the Lake District.
