Though I am not able to find out a reason behind this famed moniker, beyond the fact that it contains a whole lot of Hindu temples. In fact, Bali is also known as the Island of Thousand Temples. Though this is supposedly a gross underestimation. There are apparently 6002 of them. Within a temple complex stand many puras. Days 1 and 2 White Water Rafting and Tanah Lot. Breakfast by the pool.
