در یک شهربازی پسرکی سیاهپوست به مرد بادکنک فروشی نگاه می کرد که از قرار معلوم فروشنده مهربانی بود. قرمز را رها کرد تا در آسمان اوج بگیرد و بدینوسیله جمعیتی از مشتریان جوان را جذب خود کرد. سپس بادکنک آبی و همینطور یک بادکنک زرد و بعد ازآن یک بادکنک. بادکنک ها سبکبال به آسمان رفتند و اوج گرفتند و ناپدید شدند. پسرک سیاهپوست هنوز به تماشا ایستاده بود و به یک بادکنک سیاه خیره شده بود.
