Our journey of opening up our hearts and our home through foster care. Friday, June 28, 2013. On a Wednesday night in late March just before Easter I left my house without telling my kids where I was going. For one, I knew my older boys would be upset about taking in another child.

Due to no fault of their own, these children enter the whole new world of foster care. They become wards of the state! Missouri has one of the lowest state subsidies in the nation for funding the needs of these children. FAST, was established in 2009 as a nonprofit 501c3 organization.

Follow us on our journey. We got up at 6am on Saturday to catch what would become our first of six trains for the day. Apparently there are a lot of connections required to get from Nagano - Kofu - Mt. Fuji and back to Kofu! We got into Kofu, our home for the night, around 10am, dropped our bags at our hotel and set out to see some of the city before it was time to grab lunch at the train station and continue the journey to Mt.
