I was sitting at my desk at work, desperately trying to get through the stacks of files before we were due to head to California for what we all knew would be her final holiday. And the weight of that knowledge hung on me like one of those lead x-ray jackets they drape over you at the dentists office. I couldnt be side-tracked by the nuisance of a lazy hand. I would be fine.
