Viimased nädalad siin on osutunud kõige raskemateks. Jaapani sõprade käest kuulsin koguaeg hirmujutte suurest tõenäosusest, et millalgi lähima paarikümne aasta jooksul tuleb suur maavärin. Kuid 9 magnituudilist värinat ei oodanud keegi. Arvestades maavärina magnituudi, olime emaga õnnega koos, et vaid ehmatusega pääsesime. Ema oli just eelmisel päeval Tokyosse saabunud ning maavärinatega, mida Tokyos kergemas vormis pidevalt tunda võib, mitte harjunud inimesena, oli see talle väga hirmuäratav kogemus.
