This experiment is a coloured version of the Black on White sketch, BonW11. I wanted to try white outlining as a way to expand the line techniques for a projected large work. The white drawing in oil certainly adds another dimension, and perhaps satisfied my occasional need to scribble on every bit of the panel.

I started with a complete drawing, and kept redrawing it with whatever changes came into my head. which is basically what animation is. But this also illustrates how a series works. an idea is repeated and allowed to evolve, until it turns into something else. or in this case, until is comes back around on itself. Monday, January 4, 1999. The cosmic spiral becomes appropriate, a birthing nebula. But are these beings improving? I dare not sit down today, but pace the studio, looking from one painting to the other. As I paint, I am partly amused, somewhat repelled.
