Local Wildlife Photography And From Further Afield. Sunday, 17 May 2015. On the 5th of February this Little Bunting was discovered feeding on the wet area outside the hide at Forest Farm Cardiff. News of a Lesser Pecker had been reported the previous day, otherwise it may never had been identified. On the few occasions I was able to visit the light was always too strong, with the hide facing south it was always going to be hard to get good shots.

I have been into birding since the early 80s,when I was avidly twitching everything possible.I left the birding scene in the early 90s,only really going birding when I was abroad on holidays.Then after a telephone call from an old friend to say that there were Waxwings in Cardiff in 2004 the bug bit me again and I have not looked back.I bought my first DSLR in 2008.
