The problem of crop spraying. Crop spraying by farmers can be a problem for both householders and walkers. Fortunately, most farmers in Felsham are socially responsible and make great efforts to minimise the problem of spraying near houses and footpaths. It is worthwhile remembering that farmers have to follow a code of practice drawn up by the HEALTH AND SAFETY EXECUTIVE. Ensure that all persons engaged in crop spraying are suitably trained.
Gale damages tree on Lower Green. The Poplar is awaiting the attention of a tree surgeon. The verge is looking superb and very verdant after all the recent rain. The ox-eyed daisies, pyramidal orchids and sulphur clover are all struggling to make a showing among the tall grasses. The sulphur clover has never looked better. The pyramidal orchids vary vastly in size but are quite prolific.
Wednesday, 28 January 2009. Felsham is an attractive small village about eight miles south east of Bury St Edmunds in the County of Suffolk, England. There is a public house - The Six Bells, a shop and post office, a garage, a church and a village hall. On the border of Felsham, Rattlesden and Brettenham lie the remains of a World War 2 USAF airfield that was operational between 1943 and 1945. Today it is used by a gliding club. They assisted in the liberation of Brest in September 1944 and made supply drops to the French resistance.
