Two years ago I had a baby. Or really just a hope of a baby. An idea of an infant in my sun-kissed August arms, an image of a crib drenched in afternoon sunlight, the turgidity of my massive belly like a ripe plum. This is the baby I lost. The baby who up until my first ultrasound was as real to me as my own arm or leg. And in quiet moments, stopped to think of them and missed them utterly. Non, je ne regrette rien.
