Explore with Tsungani how the forms and elements of Northwest Coast art come together as designs that represent hereditary crests. You will learn basic forms and begin to work on layout of designs through drawing and the creation of templates.
Free Summer Saturdays at the Lelooska Foundation. Every Saturday, Memoral Day to Labor Day, 11am-3pm. Come for an hour or come for the day! The Lelooska Museum displays an extensive collection of native artifacts from North America. Over 600 items including parflesches, corn husk bags, dolls, spoons, baby cradles, moccasins, tomahawks, pipes, pipe bags, baskets and a 15 foot birch bark canoe are on exhibit. Girl Scout Day at the Lelooska Cultural Center. This event is now over. Girl Scout Day at the Lelooska Cultural Center. Explore the Lelooska Museum and immerse yourself in Native American Cultures. Visit a fur trade camp outside our museum. Learn about life in the fur trade including the use of the parflesche. View the rawhide parflesches in our collection and try your hand at painting a rawhide disk with pigment paints. Color and fold your own paper parflesche to take home. Saturday, June 6, 2015.
