We got to sleep around 130am and awoke around 500am, drove into the park, parked the car, filled up water, got on the shuttle for the South Kaibab trailhead, and watched the beautiful light of dawn during the ride. Upon arriving at the trailhead, we promptly touched the sign, hit our watches, and started the 5000 descent to the Colorado River. We started about 645am. It was a blast! Thursday, October 8, 2009.
