Friday, May 2, 2008. When still small and carefree. They never tell you the truth. That life in the future. Will be full of misery. Instead they fill your head with lies and butterflies. Let you dance and dream and describe. When still innocent and wide-eyed. The world seems so promising. They hide the truth behind sugar sweet voices. Lead you on with a pat on the back. Put you to bed with hope beneath your head. Then one day the veil comes down.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Today has been a sad day in the Hammond home. We had to have our beloved cat, Smokey, put to sleep. I knew that she was old and sick, and to keep her here would only be selfish. I thought I was prepared for this, but I definitely was NOT. I ended up crying all morning.
