A visit to my favorite Mission of Hope Intern. A couple weeks ago, Zach and I were able to fly to Haiti and visit Jake. We were also blessed to have a travel companion, Grayden. Jake had a small team of 8, including us, for the week. We normally went out with Jake, and interpreter and another Haitian who helped organize.

Yesterday I lost my first tooth in two years. All I was doing was eating pop rocks. One tooth started hurting every time I used it. Finally I felt a tooth come out. I went to my house and showed my mom. After that I went to look for more pop rocks. Cookies to Die for and Rollerbldes. This week I got rollerblades. When Creighton Barrel and I signed on for Costco, I was excited. After living in Haiti where grocery shopping was an all-day affair of inflated prices, sore backs, and the best radio in the world, walking into a Costco there were angelic choruses. The low prices! The bulk toilet paper! The samples of organic quinoa chips and skinny popcorn and meatballs! THE FAGE VANILLA GREEK YOGURT WAS GONE.

IN HOPE and PRAYER, IN EXPECTATION and LOVE. Monday, 15 April 2013. I leave my apartment late, this morning, on my way to church. It is quiet and I walk and think about this being my last descent to the Church of Hope. I had wondered while I had gotten dressed just what I would experience. I had prayed that I would be open to worship and to hear from the Lord, not distracted by my self or any one or any thing else.
