Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes 2009. Sunday, May 24, 2009. We had a farewell party with our guides and porters. They have been nothing short of amazing and made out trip so enjoyable! After dinner, we all sang and danced and enjoyed having a few festive beverages through the evening. I think we will miss all of them the most as they made our trip so memorable. Tomorrow is a shopping and recovery day. We are all looking forward to returning home after this amazing adventure.

Everest Base Camp, Nepal 2009. Sunday, May 24, 2009. We are now back in Kathmandu. We got in mid-afternoon today, but for a while we werent sure if we were going to make it. We got into a very rainy Lukla probably just to prep us for London to receive news that there had been no flights for 2 days. Shyam assured us that if flights were flying today, it wouldnt be a problem, because he had a friend at the airport. Last night in Lukla we had a bit of a farewell party with our guides and porters.
