We had an enjoyable ranger walk led by Jerry Jessen, an ex-teacher of art and history. He must have been one of those teachers who made history come alive. We returned to camp via the Needles Highway which derives its name from the needle-like granite formations that is passes.

Our tenth year as fulltime RVers. Thursday, September 24, 2009. This was our first time in North Dakota. We were expecting a flat, treeless expanse, gently sloping from one end to the other, but were quite pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the state.
