Monday, July 24, 2017. Our Last Day in Israel! July 23, 2017. They served us a traditional lunch and it was very tasty! Sunday, July 23, 2017. Today is Friday July 21st in Israel. This morning we woke up early to go from Tiberias where we are staying, to Dir el assad which is located farther north. The drive was beautifully filled with views of mountains and the ocean. The Diller Teen Fellows is a 15-month pluralistic, national, youth leadership fellowship currently available in 20 North America and Israel communities. Twenty Boston area teens - the JCC Diller Teen Fellows - are selected yearly based on their leadership aptitude, commitment to Jewish learning, interest in exploring their connection to Israel, and passion for serving their community. After the farm visit, we drove to a Druze village in the mountains. Once we got there, we went to a hospitality house we were had a very delicious Druze lunch and then we learned a little bit about the Druze religion. After lunch was the moment we had all been waiting for- going to the beach! The night ende.
Monday, August 3, 2015. The morning started very early and emotional because it was the last time we would see any of our Diller international friends. Saying goodbye to everyone after spending 5 days together was very sad. Of course everyone was saying that we would come and visit each other in our cities, but for most people it was the last time we would ever see each other. Xoxo from the holy land! Fun in Jaf.
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Congress officially wraps up this morning! We have had an incredibly busy time and are looking forward to an opportunity to reflect on the blog during our drive up North later this afternoon. Sunday, July 26, 2015. Thursday, July 23, 2015. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Day two in Tel Aviv. Monday, August 3, 2015. Last day of Congress and First Day in Tel Aviv. After saying goodbye to the friends we made, Pittsburgh karmiel-misgav boarded our bus to Tel Aviv. The bus ride only took about a hour and went by really quickly. Before we knew it we were standing in line for shawarma and falafel! The food was really good, but huge, so I could barely eat half of mine. Sunday, August 2, 2015.
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. A belated post from a few days ago. Monday, August 3, 2015. Leaving Congress for the woods. From the local animals at night. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. We started our day at a childrens summer camp in Metula. We split into small groups with a few fellows and a camper, moving around the campus doing various interactive activities, including teaching English numbers, letters, and animals. We finished our day at the Vancouver house with a presentation.
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. The quickest way for any Torontonian to fly to Israel is 12 hours or half a day. Not to mention the time spent in the airport. These hours, though long and often tedious, are endured by many people. Why? August 4 - In the Footsteps of our Founders.
