Big Blue and her crew of 16 will depart Morocco in early January 2011 and arrive in Barbados less than 33 days later to claim the fastest Atlantic crossing by OAR. No motors or sails, Big Blue is entirely human powered. The crew of 16 will row 2 hours on and 2 hours off, for the nearly 800 hours they are at sea. They will be rowing non-stop and unsupported! Some years of our lives, what arrives becomes a point of disintegration and integration whether planned or hurled toward us. Unexpected events, news, diagnosis, losses, gains, deaths, births, infertility, fertility, landslides, reroutes, things and or people given or taken away. But the ground feels like a river and it does not belong to me. And the river is sound.
Soon there will be buds. But for now it still looks like winter. Time to break out of a rut.
I think I have over 25 kinds I want to make. My goal is to hopefully sell it for the holidays.
