Observatory Log

A clear sky all night or at least from 1000pm to 300am, when I closed down. The best night Ive seen for many months, clear all round and the Milky Way could be seen from the bottom of Perseus across the top of the sky to the bottom of Aquila. I could see it all night, or whenever I looked. A clear night after half an hour of cloud from 1030pm. It got clear enough to see the Milky Way at the top of the sky too. 12 noon, Max and I went to the big dome to install a shelf that Max had previously made, in.

Processing with Photoshop

This is my normal work screen, not that you should copy it, but it should give you somewhere to start. Most important is the Histogram. Below it is a row of three items. Is a means of making adjustments to the photo in a non-destructive manner, whereas the normal Curves and Levels etc. can be counted as destructive, in that if used their effect is permanent and to remove it you have to go back to a prior History state. Refers to control over individual colour channels. To see what you have .
