Take a walk around the block. Or just sit on the front stoop, inhaling the scent of blossoms and fresh-cut grass, humming with birds and laughing with kids.

We are just a quiet country family living in Kansas. We have a 100 year old house on a few acres and we are slowly making this old farm home cozy for our family. We love to spend time outdoors especially fishing or just swinging on our front porch swing. Growing and growing and growing! Snow on snow on snow. Is that Don King? .

Chocolate cookies would be appropriate and so very therapeutic right about now. Yep, they are a thing! .

Monday, August 6, 2012. This past week was spent chaperoning 80 teens at 4-H Teen Camp in Alpine Wyoming.

Friday, September 23, 2011. Today was my last day at my job that I have been at for almost 3 years. While there were small parts of my job that I liked the insane amount of driving was just taking its toll on me. Over the course of the past 4-5 weeks I managed to clock a whoppin 4,000 miles. Heck I was no longer a nurse but had become a truck driver! Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

Sunday, February 10, 2013. There are plenty of people in the world who deserve more love from me. My wife and kids top the list. Extended family members are right up there too. As are neighbors, co-workers, anyone unfortunate enough to operate a motor vehicle in my vicinity, boy scouts and in short anybody not named Zach Owen. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. The Small, Simple Things. Another year has slipped past and yet our lameness of not being able to get a Christmas card pulled together and sent off persists. There is not a single thing in the entire world we can blame this on other than ourselves, and while I am tempted to just not do anything to commemorate the passing of another year a family life, looking fondly at our 2013 family pictures this week persuaded me otherwise.

Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Spring Break 2013 - Our First Real Road Trip. We drove to our hotel in Carlsbad on Sat night. We really liked staying in the Hilton Homewood Suites. Could she be any cuter? The animals are amazing, and the greenery is jus.
