I was so moved and inspired by a trip to Uganda in 2008, that I decided to return to Africa in 2010. This time, a team of eight Canadians and two Americans volunteered at a school to deliver lessons and update computers, set up a computer lab at a youth centre, and worked on an extension to the local basketweaving cooperative. Thursday, July 31, 2008. During our trip we delivered lessons as part of a four-month course for high school graduates in basic computer literacy. To earn a certificate, students are expected to learn basic computing and gain familiarity with e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
