The first thing I did was to get a piece of metal and, using a bench grinder, I did all of the major work such as shaping the blade, thinning the handle and giving it an edge. Doing all of that took most of the time. It took two weeks or so. I also cut about an inch off the end of the handle with a hacksaw! The knife in the sheath. Me in the process of making the knife.

Friday, April 17, 2015. It has been eight months since last I made an entry. The firm, straight path of my life has taken many an unexpected turn, and has become more rocky and more smooth at the same time. Is that possible? Perhaps the old ones have disappeared and new ones replaced them. Well, I was sorting through documents today and found a memory at the bottom of the drawer. It was from a time that I was contented and happy. Maybe it even carried the scent of that happiness on it.
