Drawing from observation is one way to practice skills. Other students used their imagination or experimented with new media. Some of our fourth graders gave advice to our other students. This student is working in pen and ink. Another student is making a Zentangle! It is very relaxing.

Tuesday, July 21, 2015. We had a wonderful day of art making with approximately 40 children and adults at Spanish Oaks today. Indy Art Lab would like to thank the management at Spanish Oaks and our volunteers Kathy, India, Josiah, Melita and Maria who helped us with set up, modeled creative processes and worked with young artists all day long! Fourth graders developed skills in storytelling, claymation, technology and, most importantly, collaboration as they worked in teams to plan and create their animations. 2 Make characters, props and backgrounds out of clay and paper. 3 Photograph the characters against the backgrounds, step-by-step. Some animations have close to 200 photographs! June 7, 2015.
