Tuesday, June 24, 2008. For many of them, it is the first time that they have seen books like these. They are used to the dull, black and white, textbooks distributed by the Department of Education. Most libraries in Ifugao are only stocked with books of these kinds. One of my favorite books to show them is one on dinosaurs. When I open the pages, the room fills with oohs and ahhhs. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. The little bell above the door welcomes a customer into the warmth of the room. I look up from my book to see an elderly man enter the cafe. Once inside, he carefully rises from his chair and lifts himself into a seat at a table, eye level with the rest of the room. They serve him, without receiving in return. Or is it more than that? Well, I do, but I like.
Its been a funny last 9 months, with a massive low, but a good feeling of regaining the girl who used to be me and finding out a little bit more about me. Having control in my life is the best feeling, and I have the support of my wonderful bezzies and close friends to turn to no matter what happens.
