Thursday, July 23, 2009. So, a while ago we were just hangin out and I figured why not torture the nieces and nephews by making them pose for hours on end. well as it turns out they outlasted the photographers. Here is a bit of what they had in store for us. Friday, June 19, 2009.
The subjective objectivity and dirty, confessional realism of the snapshot aesthetic completely enchant me. I love the ability of the camera to capture actual events with a sense of anachronistic realism. My goal is to create simple photographs where the attention is on the moment, but where the context remains an ambiguous pseudo-fiction with which you can imagine any narrative. This is my year in photography school.
The hodgepodge of experience we call everyday life can be extra-ordinary too. I was once given something. a gift, one might say. a gift disowned by its previous owner and left for junk. the day billy offered this gift to me was its lucky day. from that moment on, and for quite some time after, this gift lived a life certainly not lacking of interest nor excitement. Sunday, April 12, 2009. After sandbagging a couple houses along the Red River last week, I decided to document the area and the rising waters. It was a lot of fun shooting because I got to talk to some of the people from the area and show them some of the shots I got. Parents brought their little ones and from time to time Id hear their excited remarks about the drifting ice chunks - Look at that one Dad! ITS THE SIZE OF OUR CABIN! I had a lovely weekend. Friday night was dinner with work colleagues at The Sussex Hotel. Saturday was a drizzly day but thrilled that we got our game of netball in. Pity we got absolutely slaughtered! Training is booked in for Tuesday night! Today was lunch at Crinitis. And today, I won! At Chatswood Westfield. I love that shop! Friday we enjoye.
