When I began this blog I fully intended to continue creating and posting additional content on a regular basis. However, my family unexpectedly hit a bit of a rough patch. In a period of about half a year, both of my in-laws passed away, requiring my husband to be out of state for months at a time. It was a difficult time.

We then travelled further north to Litchfield National Park which was nothing short of amazing. It was filled with gorgeous waterfalls, swimming holes and other interesting natural icons such as rock formations and termite mounds. From here we went to the Lost City which was rock formations that were created over millions of years due to weathering in the sandstone and conglomerate rock. It also had ripple rock which would have had either the sea.

It was done! Managed to complete this few hours before the end of 2010. Though it took almost a year to complete, I was overwhelmed with the final results and such a relief. The backing fabric was a simple lantern prints and this quilt measures 88 x 68 inches.

A Hodge Podge of Home Education in Edmonton. Friday, August 5, 2011. Jurassic Forest in Alberta! This one seemed to be a favourite as they had at least three. Combine lovely nature trails meandering through Alberta boreal forests with motion-sensored animatronic dinosaurs and you have a hug hit with children and adults! This is Jurassic Forest. These two put on a fighting display. The forest was lush and full of life when we went.

Thursday, May 3, 2012. And in the process they have learned a great amount relating to science and history etc. Despite that, I think our 30 minute tour of River Street Sweets in Savannah has been their favorite. I can see where dipping marshmallows, or anything for that matter, in a large vat of chocolate would be quite memorable. And this taffy stretching machine was quite mesmerizing.

Home educating family, exploring what the world has to offer us all. And now the summer holidays. It does give me time to get them interested in oustide things again like we did so much last year. Alex went off on a fab summer camp. And then, no doubt it will be September soon enough! July 15, 2012. Alex is off to boardi.

Sunday, August 12, 2012. Being on the clean eating kick, we needed a new take on breakfast. This was the perfect blend of egg and veggies. 1 orange or red bell pepper. Dice veggies except spinach into tiny pieces. Spray pan with cooking spray. Drizzle pan with olive oil and saute veggies. Salt and pepper to taste. Add eggs to pan and mix well. Toss in spinach and cook eggs through stirring occasionally. Posted by ONe PiNK FiSH.
