Todays photo was sent to me a few years ago but until recently I had forgotten about it. I wasnt sure, from the few details on the back, that I would be able to find out about this family but it turned out to be relatively easy. Its a shame the photo is not in good condition. There were too many Kershaw. Birth registrations to be absolutely sure which ones were Janet, Mary and Florence so I looked for a Kershaw family in the 1901 census with three daughters of the same names and here we have them-.

New Zealand Churches

Photographing churches where my ancestors were baptised, married or buried has been a favourite pastime for many years. Churches in NZ are slowly disappearing so I thought it was time to start saving their images for posterity. Former Methodist Church, Manakau. Located on State Highway 1, Manakau, Manawatu-Wanganui, this building now houses the Kirk Wood. The present owners, David and Diane Campbell, purchased the building in December 1998.

James was born on 28 Oct 1842 and baptised 18 Dec 1842 at the same North Leith parish church as his siblings.
