Friday, October 24, 2008. Every once in a while I go looking for more information on an element of the Butterfield. Because such entries often disappear I will post it below. It is a denied request for discharge. Followed by some information about Albert. There are no further military rec.
The Last Butterfield Station In Missouri. Monday, June 8, 2009. Harbin Station and the Harbin Farm. Since posting this I have had extended email exchanges with Donna Cooper and Bill Landers. Harbin was the original station-keeper. The house stood a mile SW of Washburn. Was burned during Civil War.
Wherein we pass out of Oklahoma and make a scheduled stop for Big Red in Plano, Texas. Friday, June 23, 2006. We rose early and hit the road in semi-darkness. Required considerable leg work on location and a good bit of luck. One could easily spend half a day visiting with locals looking for the right person to guide you to a remote ruin.
