This is from Mauna Kea, a beautiful view of the Milky Way. This was shot with a 30 second exposure and was not something we could see otherwise. Volcanic rock beginning to grow vegetation, with a little patch of imported trees from a concerned local many years ago. I think this one may be my favorite. It started as a blog about me, a 16-year-old girl, moving from the big city of Portland, Oregon, to the tiny village of Tatitlek, Alaska. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Here are dads new boots. We are putting in posts to keep out the deer from the grapes. Later we hope to move our blueberries and raspberries into this area as well. So thankful for the little ones God has given us and hoping to bring our third baby bean home soon! Living in the blur. When I think about the first few months after Josie and Mabel came home, I remember that it was a sweet and precious time and such a blur! This has been the same. We are SO thankful to be home with our sweet Daniel! Was the nipple wrong? He was also spitting up all over.

Kenji over at Serious Eats had a new way of making a crust that rejected the old method of leaving large chunks of fat and keeping the dough really dry.
