Bushabout - Oct 06 - Kings Canyon. Monday, October 9, 2006. Kings Canyon - well worth the WALK! We checked out Kings Canyon late afternoon, too hot to climb the Rim Walk. Found a camp spot at Kathleen Springs, a neat water hole. Kings Canyon sheltered gullies and gorges is an important botanical area with over 600 plant species, 33 of them rare. With 20 species of mammals, more than 70 reptiles and 140 birds. Enjoy the brief photo tour of our walk.
