Monday, August 20, 2012. Brett called me fairly late tonight, exhausted and DONE. Brett said that the hike to the top of Katahdin was the toughest 5-mile section on the trail. It was a good challenge, worthy of the ending of the Appalachian Trail. Brett said that it was quite a scramble climbing up, and equally difficult coming back down. Sunday, August 19, 2012.
