Monday, August 13, 2012. Lately I have been thinking a lot about hope. The word is in the songs we sing. It is in the words people use to encourage us. Hope was once a word I used to express expectations for my children. I hope Matthew can sit unassisted one day. Now, hope has a new meaning. The past three weeks have been a whirlwind. So off we went to our local ER.

Wednesday, January 16, 2013. A week and a half ago Gavin went in for a sedated heart echo, and to have his pacemaker read. I usually get nervous before these visits. I spend time wondering if we will get good, or not so good results. After we got home, the boys were asking me how it went, and then Nolan and Caleb started reminiscing about the days that Gavin spent a lot of time in the hospital. We were separated so often.

Thursday, June 28, 2012. My favorite thing about summer this year? Sunlight for a solid 15 hours a day. No sports or camps to rush off to. No homework to get done.

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Nothing like playing football in over 90 degree weather. But the boys where thrilled to participate in a Redskins flag tournament. Luke had multiple touchdown catches and runs through the day. And Carter tossed some great touchdown passes. They did great in their pool and made it to the finals. They played against boys that looked like men so it was tough. After the tournament they were given their swag and a lunch. Sunday, July 26, 2015. A better place for the ATVs.

Our story is a work in progress, as is life. We are small family with a big job - to care for and love the littlest cowboy, Wyatt, and help him live life to the fullest. Wyatt has a neurological disorder called Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia Type II. It is severe and somewhat unpredictable. It has also taught our family so much about love. And love is what holds us together.
