No meio daquela cena de tragédia, o melhor amigo chora, nos braços da professora, que acaricia seus cabelos loiros, com carinho. Brenda, que também tinha a idade de Cassie e Arthur, não chora, tampouco sente felicidade. A verdade é que está assustada. Não conhecia Cassie, nem tinha coragem de se aproximar de Arthur. Tudo o que Brenda sabia, era o que tinha sido contado por Arthur a direção.
