Birding Mount Desert Island. Monday, August 23, 2010. Carolina Wren and Philadelphia Vireo. I came across a foraging flock of passerines off of otter cliff road. Among the many Parulas, Redstarts, and Red-eyed Vireos i found yet another Philadelphia Vireo! This is my third individual in about a week. Also of note, a Carolina Wren came out to investigate after i started pishing. I believe Carolina Wren is a fairly uncommon bird on the island. Birding on MDI is just too fun! Sunday, August 8, 2010.
