Cyrus Clinton Hensley, mayor of Berea from 1958 until his death on December 13, 1980 at the age of 71, was born May 20, 1909 in Clay County, Kentucky, and moved to Berea with his family when he was eight. He also served as a Madison County deputy sheriff and Berea Chief of Police. He was active in the Berea Chamber of Commerce and the Berea Kiwanis Club.
