When I first started this blog, I was an unemployed costumer attempting to create period gowns and costumes with very limited means. Although now employed, I still try to be as thrifty as possible. I hope you enjoy my journey into the land of inexpensive costuming and short articles.
The fabric is a printed silk taffeta from my stash. I also made a matching reticule, with my leftover fabric and lining.
An exploration of historical costume. Restyled 1928 Green Silk Dress. Late 1920s green dress, which I made and first posted about. When it was first completed, I was in the midst of creating lots of new things for Newport Vintage Dance Week. Last year, I had a reason to wear the dress again and I came up with a new design idea, based on this. Gold t straps, green earrings, and a matching trim headband. I think the 20s silhouette .
