Saturday, January 7, 2012. One of my young barred rock hens laid a monster of an egg the other day. I was sure it was a double-yolker! Imagine my surprise when I cracked it open and found this. An egg within an egg! It was rubbery and pretty disgusting - the stuff horror stories are made of! I had to open it up, of course. Silkie babies on the way.
