Located in sunny southern California, the Bead Society provides a beaders paradise for networking, workshops and the exchange of ideas along with opportunities to create, present and sell handmade artisan work. The Bead Society is an affiliate of the Bowers Museum and as such, provides monetary support through proceeds from the annual Art of Adorning Bead Bazaar, the collection of dues and donations.

Melanie Potter is an off-loom beadwork artist innovating new designs each year for a number of beading venues. Bay Area jewelry artist Rene Baba has been crafting wearable art for over 25 years.

Beads of Awareness is a non-profit social enterprise dedicated to empowering women in northern Uganda since 2009. We do this by buying paper bead jewellery and other products from our artisans, selling them in Canada and abroad, and reinvesting proceeds into our microfinance loan project. We buy from two artisan groups in the Gulu region of Uganda helping support over 45 individuals and their families. We have also supported many local development projects in the Gulu region.
