The hens have come back into lay, hatched a few babies and returning to laying and of course broodiness. Some of them are very keen to raise as many babies as possible. Perhaps it also depends on the breed? A three year ISA brown hybrid hen is much different to an Old English Game hen.

Thursday, July 25, 2013. Our geocaching name is LandlockedPirateFam- mostly because we are a family that loves everything Piratey, but we live in the landlocked mid-west. Lately we keep joking that we should re-name the farm LandlockedPirate Farm. Just call it LPF. I can even picture a large arch at the edge of our drive with a huge LPF sign dangling from the top. No clue. We are open to suggestions. July is almost over and I have been missing from blog-land again. The mama and baby not named yet.CONTENT
