Fire From the Gods? Whats in Your Pocket? Yes, this is a review of a simple lighter, and should probably be 3 paragraphs, but where would the fun be in that? Thursday, June 1, 2017. Does ONTAP need SMB1? There are some rumors flying around that ONTAP, the OS behind NetApp storage appliances require SMB1 to operate in a Windows AD environment. Well? That would be false. Data ONTAP 7-mode has had SMB2 available to it since SMB 2. When the OS talks with Domain Controllers for authentication, SMB1 was recommended for the longest time, but several years ago, that recommendation was lifted due to some enhancements in the SMB2 protocol.

Homesickness and Sleeping On a Hill. The terrain was nice, and I made good time. I ran in to several people out walking on the trail around Falls Village. It appears they had lost power on Main Street, so everyone was out and about. They all had dogs that barked and raised their hackles at me, so I always stopped about 10 feet away to chat.
