Autism Alpacas A Partnership

We were first introduced to these animals when John, our son of 33 years, was given two llamas to feed in his community- based program at Lamoille High School in Morrisville, Vermont. His contact with the animals produced immediate changes in his anxiety level and feelings of self-worth. And so our adventure began we started a small farm, Alpaca Shack, in Berne, NY. This is a journal of John39;s life with these mystical and wonderful animals.

Autism Narratives

The scientific story of autism is compelling, the autobiographical story of autism is confronting. As a parent of a child with autism, my actions, perceptions and aspirations have been, and continue to be, influenced by these two contrasting literary genres. This blog is a growing essay which reflects upon the influence that both biomedical and biographical narratives have had upon me as a lay reader of autism narratives.
