Sunday, May 2, 2010. Pufferbelly Depot Adaptive Reuse Project. Inspired by the image of an idle train parked outside the Depot, the connection between the train wheels sparked the abstracted motif of two incomplete circles connected with soft curved lines. As the motif evolved into a pattern with colors of blue red and yellow, the Evans adaptive re-use of the depot into a residence, gallery, and artist studio acquired the concept theme of Rustic, and Organic, Entwined. From my photo inspiration of the King Street Train Station to my series of modules and patterns, and final textile design, the key concept of linearity, movement, and connections have been incorporated into all processes and executions. These concepts were also applied to develop my concept model.
