Sunday, 9 August 2015. Adventures in Wales Dyfi Osprey Project. Im certain Ive mentioned this before, but Im going to go ahead and say it again anyway; the best experiences are unplanned. The Wednesday of my week in Wales with my parents had been our planned day to visit Skomer Island. I follow all of the monitored osprey sites on social media, including those at Rutland Water, Dyfi and the Lake District but from where I live in West Sussex, they are all too far away for me to visit for the day. .CONTENT

Ashenbank Woods - A Local Patch! Sunday, 2 August 2015. Another beautiful morning, with warm sunshine. Dragonflies seem to turn up all over the woodland and not necessarily near water, I have found a couple of thick bramble patches that are usually bathed in sunlight and particularly attractive to these little beauties, today a Female Common Darter. At least five Migrant Hawker. S and one Southern Hawker. Slightly overcast with a threat of more rain for later today, but still relatively warm, as I walked.

Monday, 10 August 2015. Straying off the local patch - a visit to the Dyfi Osprey project. On a brief holiday to Machynlleth for a few days, one of the trips we made was to the nearby Dyfi Osprey project, a reserve managed by the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust. The site has been home this summer to adult Ospreys Monty and Glesni, and their three now successfully fledged chicks; Merin, Celyn and Brenig. We visited on the 3. Info board in main hide.
